Better Skin Care Today

We are powerless to stop the process of aging. This does not mean, however, that we have to accept that aging means looking older. On the contrary; by using anti-aging creams in tandem with a few simple, health-preserving practices, you can keep your skin looking great and maintain your physical health for many years to come.

Our skin needs the correct balance of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid to protect it from aging too soon. UVA and UVB rays contained in sunlight are just a few of the free radicals capable of accelerating your skin’s daily degeneration. Hence you should hunt for an anti-aging cream that correctly balances collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Moreover, in addition to applying such an anti-aging cream on a daily basis, follow these essential habits to conserve your immune system and preserve your skin form the degeneration generated through the aging process and the influence of free radicals.

Get friendly with that parasol! A tan is best understood as a symptom of unhealthy skin. You have been led to believe that a bronzed body is a healthy body, but this is wholly inaccurate. A tan is in fact a minor sunburn, whereby maintaining a tan is a means to increase your risk for skin cancer, not to mention all the wrinkles that sun damage causes. Still, a person cannot avoid sunlight for their entire lives. Thus to preserve the youthful look of your face and body, you should always utilize a sunblock that is SPF 15 or greater when parts of your body are exposed to the sun’s rays.

Your body is composed of a multitude of organs, and your skin is one of these. Improving your immune system will thereby keep your skin looking healthy and young. Drink eight glasses of water, at least eight ounces each, every day. Avoid fatty foods, consuming those which are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Include a multivitamin in your health regimen. Exercise and stay active to keep your heart, immune system, and skin youthful and healthy!

Do not smoke! Cigarettes and/or cigars (”cancer-sticks”) are filled with carcinogens-toxins that exacerbate the aging process and wreak havoc on your heart, your immune system, and your skin. Some forms of alcohol are, however, actually good for you. Drink a glass of red wine and, as scientific examinations have demonstrated, you will imbibe a large amount of healthy antioxidants. Even so, avoid abusing alcohol.

Consider adding facial massages to your health regimen. In many ways, you are your face, and a plethora of age-lines and wrinkles are noticed by everyone around you. Numerous muscles are engaged in something as simple as a frown, and massaging them will ensure that they are relaxed and strong for years ahead. Keep your face from sagging and wrinkling by finding a facial masseuse.

Additionally, you must utilize the best anti-aging cream available to you. The best anti-aging cream will have enough collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid to increase your face’s supply of them to the optimum level. It is also necessary that it have a multitude of antioxidants to aid your immune system by eliminating toxins.

Avoid chemical-rich anti-aging creams and look for natural, organic ones. The former are not only usually ineffective, but they are known to produce dry-skin, redness, and even inflammation of the skin. Lavish your skin to fight the aging process by applying an anti-aging cream composed of natural ingredients which diffuse throughout all seven layers of your skin. You’ll find that your skin is restored, down to the cellular level, and you’ll look and feel younger.

Tips on How to Select a Fitness Gym

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
by Amy Nutt

Just deciding to get fit or trying to maintain a regular exercise or workout schedule can be enough of a daunting task. There are so many programs available now, from yoga to strength training, and everything possible in between, and all can be done either at home or in a gym. Choosing a gym and a fitness program will depend on a few important factors.

Consider your fitness level and be realistic. Things like body composition and flexibility levels need to be taken into consideration. A doctor should be consulted before you begin any exercise program, especially if you have not been physically active for a given amount of time. Once you have determined the level of fitness that you are comfortably able achieve, then set one or even a few key goals. Perhaps one goal would be to tone up or lose those last 10 to 15 pounds, or maybe you want to take part in a benefit walk with friends or co-workers. Whatever the goals may be, they will help you stay focused and motivated.

You should think about the kind of physical activities you really enjoy. If you simply pick things that you think are easy, or like because they are trendy, you may soon find yourself finding excuses as to why you dont want to go to the gym after all. For example if you like to dance, then look for an exercise class that offers aerobics which includes dance moves. If you are a social person then go shopping for a health club or a gym membership as opposed to exercising alone at home. Also, dont join a club that has more to offer than you will realistically use or do. For example, if you have no love of a steam bath, then why join a gym that offers sauna privileges?

Whether you choose to exercise at home or at a gym, be sure to maintain variety in your routine. This will help to prevent overuse or injury to a specific joint or group of muscles. It will also help to prevent boredom resulting from a repetitive exercise routine.

If it looks like a gym or health club is the way you want to go, then you should consider the location. Depending on what time of day you plan to exercise and where it will fit into you daily/weekly schedule, you may want to have your gym be handy to home, or on your route to work. Also be sure to visit the gym you are considering at the time of day you plan to be there to do your workout. If you dislike crowds or prefer a large group to workout with, this will give you a heads up as to how busy the place is going to be when you plan on being there. When you visit, check the locker rooms to see if the showers are fresh and clean and look well maintained, or do they look like something from a horror movie?

You should also consider your financial status. Sometimes home gym equipment can be pricey as can memberships in health clubs. Dont join a gym to benefit your health then spend each day stressing out about how to come up with next months fees. Instead, if the dues are just too expensive, check your local city or municipality recreation department. Many times they will have regular exercise programs offered at a much more affordable rate, and with just as good of a variety of programs as your local gym.

Once you are involved in a regular exercise routine, dont forget that when you have achieved the goals you set for yourself, set new ones based on your new fitness level. This way you will always feel motivated and continue to grow physically and emotionally.

Who would Win…Steven Seagal or Jean Claude Van Damme?

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
by Al Case

In the battle of the martial arts cinema stars one has to wonder who is better, Jean Claude Van Damme or Steven Seagal. They each have obvious talents, and they each have areas where they have…less talent. So let’s match them up and see who’s better.

As to who the better martial artist is, Jean Claude can do the splits, has muscles, and likes to kick heads. On the other hand, Steven Seagal was trained to 6th degree in Aikido. Judging by the technique thy display on film, even though they studied different arts, I would have to give the edge to Seagal.

I think that Van Damme is better when it comes to acting. Van Damme trys to be act in his roles, and he always plays a variety of characters. Seagal just bills himself as bad, and wades in and bullies his way to victory.

When it comes to aging on the screen, I would have to say Van Damme is the winner. Seagal, I have to say it, looks out of shape. Those bad coats, for which he is famous, don’t really cover up his belly.

Van Damme ages better in real life, too. His martial arts actually seem to get a little better with age. He actually looks like he is trying to do more than just the splits and punch. and he is gaining in technique.

Which has made the better movies. This is a toughie, for Van Damme has made a couple of classics, and Seagal, at least in the beginning, had better production values. I think I might, in spite of his latter atrocities, give the edge to Seagal, though if you argued with me over this you wouldn’t encounter much fight.

Seagal has more wattage when it comes to screen presence. Though his last movies have rivaled garbage for their consistency, he had charisma in the beginning, and he still has a bit of screen presence. If he’d stop being the gaffer, directing, playing the music for, writing the script, producing, singing in, being the cameraman and the boom operator and everything else, and get off his opinion of himself, he might shine again.

So, hate to weasel on you, but it’s a tie game. Truth, though it seems like I am having a bit of fun with them, they both have offered cinema unique and fun perspectives on the martial arts. Forgive them their mistakes and pass the popcorn, that’s my motto.

Martial Arts Corrupted!

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
by Al Case

The sad fact is, the martial arts are taught in the most inefficient manner possible. Done properly, the martial arts are a blessing and the most incredibly efficient method of combat on the planet, the method for their teaching is woefully inadequate. Monkey see monkey do is the name of this incredibly slow method.

Your mind is a computer. When one feeds random data into the computer the result is corruption. Things you learn contradict other things you learn, and the result is slowed reaction times as you sort through the data, and inefficiency, and the extraction of actually incorrect data. And you thought that low block would protect your face?

One form of corruption is vested interest, simply, somebody stands to gain, and therefore messes up the data of the martial arts. For instance, there is a pro MMA fighter who, during the Ultimate Fighter TV show, gave the ludicrous advice of hitting somebody in the foot. The reason he gave this advice was because, and this he admitted later on the show, was because he might have to face one of these fighters some day, so he wasn’t going to tell them squat.

Another form of corruption is the tournament itself, simply, the desire to win a trophy encourages one to follow certain rules, and these rules inhibit ones ability to survive on the street. A fellow doesn’t bother learning to protect his groin because the rules say the other fighter can’t strike him there. So guess where he gets hit when he has to use his art for real?

One of my favorite forms of corruption is national, for instance, the government tells you how to fight. You might think it doesn’t happen, but Korea started this thing called Tae Kown Do, and threw away the rather phenomenal art of Karate, and China killed off or imprisoned all its kung fu masters, then hired a bunch of physical education coaches to create wu shu. In this country we have the AAU, Olympic committees, and so on, and martial art do you think Obama is going to proscribe for you?

Another great corrupter is medicine, because medicine slants data. Students are taught how to do great damage to nerve points with a touch, but the student needs the ability to actually punch and survive in combat before he can go looking for fine, little nerve points. And being able to stop the heart, damage the kidney, and so on, is something that every school preaches, then they woefully neglect training a student to be able to absorb the actual impact of striking a human body.

Commercialism is probably one of the worst of the corrupters. How many mothers take their little Janies down to a karate school to learn to protect herself, and then scream in anger if their little Janie gets a cut lip or black eye? And what if the little Janie was actually taught how to knock the crap out of the school bully, what kind of lawsuits would result from that?

In conclusion, the martial arts have been corrupted. Fortunately, there is a solution to this mess, and it works quickly and easily, and it is the only solution on this planet, and there has never been anything like it. Unfortunately, if you don’t find this solution you are just a monkey, prone to the corruptions of art, and never really breaking into the true blessings of the True Art.

by Frank Froggatt

Having your stuff organized and handy may not be the secret to better golf, but it definitely improves the golfer’s attitude. This is especially true if you travel with your golf clubs. Knowing that your clubs are safe and sound is truly important, and the realization that you’ve got a place for all that you need.

Combos: The Easy Way

Combination golf travel bags/ carrier combos can give you the best of both worlds: because of their design may are particularly made to worry about the same as an ordinary bag, plus they make traveling easier because you have less bulk to pack. They can be ordered with wheels on them which makes it easier for getting around the airport or simply over to your cart. Designs range from sleek metal alloy to padded, reinforced cloth. If you would like the ease of using a piece of lead its that switches easily from a travel bag to a highly functional golf bag, then you would be well served to look into the combo golf travel bag/carrier.

Golf Travel Bag with Cover: Familiarity Breeds Comfort

However, some golfers have their bags set up just the way they want them and see no reason to break everything out and re-pack for a trip. In that situation, adding a durable bag cover or case to your equipment makes a lot of sense. These are made in a simple and common sense way in that you can just put your travel bag inside of it, button it all down, and you’re ready to go. Wheeled designs are available, as well as unique space-saving models that feature “hideaway” construction to make it easier to store the case when it’s not in use.

Consider Your Needs

If you don’t get out much, in all reality it probably doesn’t make a lot of sense to spend a lot of money on travel case or a really nice golf travel bag. On the other hand though, when you take into consideration how much you’ve invested into your golf gear, including your shoes, clubs, and other gear, then you probably don’t want to go cheap on protecting your investment. Relax and take some time to check out all the options you have, think about how often you’ll use the bag, then from that point make your decision.

History Of Mountain Bikes - Quick Overview

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
by Alex Preston

Today, one of the fastest growing sports in the world is mountain biking. It’s not only practiced by the elite professionals, but is also a wonderful way for the entire families to enjoy quality time together. What better way to keep fit and see the countryside?

When did mountain bikes first appear? Mountain bikes first appeared in the 1970s in California. In those times the sport of bicycling was rapidly developing. A group of enthusiasts such as Joe Breeze, Gary Fisher, Charlie Cunningham, Tom Ritchey, and others converted bikes for rough off road riding.

Pedaling uphill was not the strong point of the first mountain bikers. They were actually pure downhillers. They would race only dowhill and ferry the bikes up a mountain with a truck. Initial modified bikes were quite risky and often couldn’t survive the stresses of downhill racing. Improvements and innovations were quickly made.

The first real purpose built mountain bike is generally credited to Joe Breeze. The year was 1978. Other giants in mountain bike development like Gary Fisher, Tom Ritchey and Charlie Kelly soon followed.

At the beginning, the bicycle industry was not very impressed with the mountain bike and many regarded it as a short-term fad. How wrong they were. In the 90s mountain biking took the world by the storm. Soon the mountain bikes were outselling the road bikes. And today, mountain biking is an Olympic sport.

Over the years many aspects of mountain biking developed and improved. New technologies, new materials and new styles were discovered. Performance was greatly enhanced. Nowadays you have all kinds of bikes that meet the demands of a variety of terrains and riding styles. Cross country, downhill, freeride, all-mountain, and trials. There is a lot to choose from.

Mountain biking started about 30 years ago as a crazy pastime. Today, it is a widely popular mainstream sport, recreational activity and a huge industry. From the adaptation of the Cruiser bicycles, mountain bikes have come a long way.

Fine Lines And Wrinkles

Degeneration of the human body and its skin is an inexorable effect of aging. We, however, do not (and should not) have to lose the war with time and look older than we feel! All we have to do to slow the aging process is to follow a few essential body-preserving habits while using a natural anti-aging cream in order to look and feel wonderful for years and years to come.

If a person’s skin does not have enough collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, it will age prematurely. Sunlight, with its ultraviolet waves, is but one of many free radicals that increase this damage every single day. Therefore, to at once aid your skin in the fight against skin aging and assist in its restoration and preservation, you must seek out an anti-aging cream that contains the correct quantities of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Furthermore, while using the best quality anti-aging cream available, you should adhere to the following routines to protect your skin and your immune system from the ravages of free radicals and the aging process.

Your skin is an organ, so it should come as no surprise that practices which benefit your internal health will improve the appearance of your skin. So to keep your skin looking great, drink at least eight glasses of water a day (eight ounces each). Eat healthy, antioxidant and vitamin-rich foods. Take a multivitamin every day. Exercise on a regular basis: aerobic activity is great for your heart, your immune system, and especially your skin!

The best anti-aging cream will have enough collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid to increase your face’s supply of them to the optimum level. It is also necessary that it have a multitude of antioxidants to aid your immune system by eliminating toxins.

Steer clear of chemically-produced creams. These are usually ineffective, and even dangerous, generating the appearance of redness, inflaming and irritating the skin, or drying it out. Instead, use only natural, organic anti-aging creams made from natural ingredients. The proper anti-aging cream will soak into all seven layers of your skin, revitalizing it at the cellular level, helping you to maintain your youthful visage for decades into the future.
