On the brink of summer we are preparing for the coming swimming season.

We’ve been preparing for this all year. Working out, eating right, doing laps in order to keep ourselves in shape.

And what was the purpose of all this? There is only one answer: in order to get into our new swimsuit.

All of us hoping that when the time comes, our swimsuits would fit perfectly and all the important parts of us will be emphasized in the right way.

The days of the one swimsuit fits all are over. A plethora of designs, shapes and colors doesn’t make our lives any easier though. But, with the right preparation choosing the right swimsuit for you can be tremendous fun. With a little knowledge and a bit of looking around, even the pickiest of us will find a perfect suit.

Monkini ” it is almost a complete swimsuit, but with a exposed waist. From the back it looks like a regular bikini.

One Piece ” its a complete swimsuit, perfect for those of us who want to hide their waist or stomach.

Tankini ” very much like a bikini, but with a singlet as the top. Perfect for those who want to hide their stomach.

Bikini ” its a two piece swimsuit. It can be supplemented with a little skirt, triangles bra or other shapes.

Swimsuits come in different colors and shapes. Today everyone can match herself with the right shape that will look on her like a million bucks.

Swimsuits are considered today as any other piece of clothing. You can buy different shapes for different days of the week, and try different colors on for different moods. You can find real bargains out there, and this is a real bonus.

Typical to women, we must have the latest design of a swimsuit for our day at the sea or even the quick swim in the pool. Don’t forget to put on sunblock though.

Swimwear Selections ARE Important

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
by David Wittlinger

When choosing ladies swimwear, it is important that women consider their body shape and pick current styles that are flattering. Please note, this does not necessarily mean the most revealing. Retro look swimwear is something a few may be able to pull off, but it can also make you look older and outdated, so that is something to keep in mind. It’s important to put some thought into the style of swimwear you choose to purchase.

When looking for ladies swimwear you should try to focus on the various styles that are popular right now. This doesn’t mean that you have to spend a large sum of money on designer swimwear, but it means that the suit you choose should be current.

It is possible to buy a suit that is timeless and will hold up for a few years, without looking or feeling like it has become outdated. Brands that are durable enough to last you a few years are what you want to consider when shopping for your swimwear.

The biggest question to think about when you want to look good in swimwear is what type of suit you should get. For ladies swimwear the question is often - two pieces or one? Although both styles come with a great selection, the general question is whether you want to show your belly or not?

The suit type that is most flattering for your figure is what you should be looking for. A bikini is often selected when a woman has a flat stomach and shapely figure, but even some of them will opt for a one piece suit for modesty purposes.

Focusing on which type of suit looks best on your body is always the most important factor. A one piece suit is often going to look more flatting than a bikini on women larger mid-sections. However, a woman with flat belly might look comfortable in either, for example.

When you picture yourself at the beach or pool, you have to imagine how you’ll be seen by others. This is important when choosing your suit and can help you predetermine your confidence when wearing either a two piece or one piece swimsuit.

Of course, men have fewer selections in swimwear, but should also consider their physique when choosing swimwear. Unless the guy is participating in a swim competition, most men feel comfortable in board shorts or baggier swimwear. This fashion style is what you will see most men at the beaches and pools wearing.

No matter what, pick a style that you are comfortable with owning, and that you are comfortable wearing. This will help you feel good about the swimwear clothing that you have chosen and allow you to focus on nothing but those luscious waves.

A Comparison of the Leading Designer Socks Brands for Men

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
by Pri Vag

There is a huge range of exciting and high quality mens sock available from most designer brands. They all offer more than your standard sock from a department store, and can add a bit of colour and detail to your look. This article looks at the defining features and differences between mens socks from brands such as Armani, Falke and Ted Baker.

Socks do not always receive the attention they deserve when putting together an outfit. For most men, socks are considered unimportant as they are less visible than other garments. Whilst this is true, an ill conceived pair of socks can ruin an otherwise well thought out outfit. In addition, socks can offer a great opportunity to subtly add pattern and colour. Socks need to be considered not only in visual terms, but also with respect to comfort and quality. In this article I will compare the leading designer sock brands for men on the basis of choice, quality, comfort, innovation and fashion. The brands I will be looking at are; Falke, Pantherella, Burlington, Calvin Klein, Emporio Armani, Paul Smith, Duchamp-London and Ted Baker.

An important distinction needs to be made between these brands i.e. whether they are sock specialists (Falke, Pantherella etc.) or fashion brands that manufacture a range of socks (Ted Baker, Paul Smith, Armani etc). There are several differences, apart from the fact that sock specialists offer a larger range. Most fashion brands manufacture mens socks in only one size, known as one size fits all. On the other hand, sock specialists usually offer 3 different sizes; 5.5-8, 8.5-11, 11.5-14. Whilst it is more comfortable to wear a sock designed to fit your foot size, the fashion brands offer the chance to buy into a big brand name. In fact, sock specialist never put their logo on the outside of the sock, whilst designer brands usually do (such as the Armani eagle or Calvin Klein CK).

Pantherella and Falke have a vast range of mens socks, covering all aspects of functionality from business to casual to sports. Within each category they offer plain fabrics in many colours, as well as fashion patterns such as stripes and argyle. In plain coloured socks, they also offer variations in fabric such as plain cotton, ribbed cotton, wool and cashmere. Calvin Klein and Emporio Armani also offer quite a diverse range, from plain cottons to stripes. The other brands have a more niche range, offering high fashion socks that adhere closely to the brands design principles (e.g. Paul Smiths renowned stripe).

In conclusion, if you are looking for a technical, well fitting sock then sock specialist brands such as Falke offer the best solution. On the other hand, many fashion houses such as Paul Smith provide socks that will add bold and dynamic colour to your casual and formal wear.

Must Own Fashion Accessories And Socks for Men

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
by Pri Vag

Mens accessories are essential for adding polish to casual and formal wear. Here is a rundown of the essential accessories for men that offer versatility.

When it comes to fashion accessories, men tend to own only one of each type. This is not to say that they are unimportant, since mens accessories can add polish and detail to casual and formal wear. The key to purchasing accessories is therefore versatility, meaning that they will blend in seamlessly with any outfit you choose. Classical shapes, colours and designs are the best way to ensure versatility, but this does not mean they have to be boring. In this article, I will look at the must own mens fashion accessories with an emphasis on being modern and fashionable as well as versatile.

A classic belt should blend in with the rest of your clothes, and therefore should not be loud and ostentatious. Ideally all men should own a dress belt and a casual/jeans belt as they are very different and should not be mixed up. A dress belt has a narrow width (usually 3cm or less) with a small buckle, and is made from shiny leather.

If you are going to purchase one dress belt, it should be black as most men wear black formal shoes (as opposed to brown or tan). When purchasing a jeans belt, it is advisable to steer clear of flashy buckles unless you already own a classic jeans belt. For the ultimate in versatility, look for a reversible belt which gives you the option of brown or black leather. A chrome buckle is more modern than a brass one.

Looking at mens accessories for formal wear, every man should own cufflinks and a tie. Working attire has become more informal with a move to business casual, and consequently formal accessories are not as essential as they once were. There are always occasions when we need to dress up and it is vital to be prepared. For a tie that covers all bases, I would recommend a stripe tie with a predominantly classic colour such as navy or burgundy.

Avoid very loud ties with busy patterns as they will not suit all occasions. A good idea is to match the dominant colour in your tie with your cufflink, although this may mean other ties wont match your cufflink. For a pair of cufflinks that will match any tie, why not choose a chrome cufflink which offers a sleek and elegant look. Stick to classic shapes such as ovals, circles and squares and avoid any novelty designs.

How to Pick How the Perfect Formal Dress for You

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
by Delana Blucher

There are a lot of special occasions that require a formal dress including weddings, school dances, corporate events, and holiday parties. So where do you start looking? I can tell you step one ” stay away from your local mall! Why would you want to shop where everyone else going to your even is also most likely to shop?

Keep these two things in your mind while looking for a dress:

1. you need to wear something that is perfect for you and 2. perfect for the event.

Okay, they may seem like obvious things, but I see people breaking these rules all the time!

Keep in mind who is running the function and which social group you will be around. If it will be family, then you probably should not dress like you want to pick up a man (save that outfit for your boyfriends’ fraternity brother’s wedding!).

Secondly, wear something that is appropriate for you. What I mean by this is something that is age and body-type appropriate. Do not wear your knock-off, Jennifer Lopez, green, neckline plunging Grammy dress to your 8th grade Valentines dance. Find a dress that looks good on your body. Do you want to hide any trouble-spots (arms, thighs, tummy, etc)? It is also important to stay dressed in your age range. This goes for both the young and the old. Trust me that you will look the best in a dress that is true to who you are.

For me, I have the most fun when I am the most comfortable. I am the most comfortable when I am confident. And I am the most confident when I look good. Finding the perfect dress is the perfect way to look good and have a blast at any formal event.

How To Tie Your Tie

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
by Pri Vag

Lets face it: Ties can be terrifying. Indeed, for many men, wearing a tie is about as much fun as putting a noose around their necks (seriously, I’ve met men who have shunned formal events simply to avoid wearing a tie). Could likening a tie to a noose perhaps have something to do with the fact that most everyone, be they male or female, has limited skills when it comes to dealing with ties?

Even if you went to a private school and wore a uniform every day of your adolescent life, you still probably only know how to tie one kind of knot. And as for everybody else, well, your dad probably showed you once and then left you to your own devices.

Alas, ties are part of being a grownup, and if you’re like many people, it’s better late than never when it comes to learning how to tie a tie properly because it’s difficult to get through life without ever wearing one. Fortunately, tying knots is a relatively painless process once it’s learned.

To save you from ruining an otherwise perfectly put-together ensemble, we guide you through four classic ways to knot a tie as well as the occasions for which each type of knot is appropriate. Who knows? By the time you’re finished reading this article you may even feel confident enough to wear a tie just for fashion’s sake.

The full and half Windsor, the four-in-hand and the Pratt are the most commonly encountered tie knots. You can learn about these types of knots as well as many others and all it will take for you to master these knots is a little practice, patience and persistence to get the required look. So get ready to get tied up and be “knotty.
