Manual massage techniques are also available in the DR6700. These manual treatments use one particular technique like kneading which can then be used to cover a particular spot or region of the body. These techniques are great where you want a specific type of relief. The other manual massage techniques include Shiatsu, Grip, Kneading, Tapping and Combination Kneading/Tapping.

When in manual mode, you can select many different options to suit your needs at that moment. You can adjust the intensity of the massage to be more or less penetrating. The massage chair is then able to determine areas in the body that have unusual tension or stiffness. The on board computer then automatically targets these areas for relief.

There is also a lower body air massage system built into the DR6700. The air system controls tactically placed air bags in the leg rest to soothe and relieve tight muscles. The feet are in for a treat with the acupoint nodes imbedded in the foot wells. Sanyo also places sole warmers to keep your feet warm during the massage. This also helps to improve blood flow and reduce swelling. Your feet are in for a treat.

The DR-6700 massage chair has some very nice features to compliment its massage therapy. The stiffness detector is certainly unique, but actually pretty effective. Good thing it doesn’t ask you questions! The manual massage treatments like the Grip massage are fabulous. We do like the automatic programs that Sanyo has developed. We wish the labor for the warranty coverage was a little longer. Overall, this is a solid massage chair that can meet your long term massage therapy needs.

A simple description of meditation would be to say it’s a technique we can use to focus our attention away from the random thoughts that fill our daily lives and onto the truly meaningful parts of our lives. Through meditation, one can achieve great tranquility. This tranquility is very useful to us as we fight against the stress, anxiety, and panic that face us every day.

Yet while most people have heard about meditation, a relative few have really tried it. This is mostly because meditation is perceived as a mysterious art. One that takes a great deal of time and dedication to master. So people are intimidated and never really try it because they think it’s too difficult. This is wrong thinking.

Basically, meditation is extremely simple to begin. You don’t need a lot of time, and you don’t need much more than a quiet place to practice. Then, once you’ve gone through a short session or two, you’ll actually begin feeling the benefits. It’s actually pretty remarkable.

Now, to begin the learning process, I suggest some type of group class. It’s great to have an instructor to lead you when you’re just starting out. And it’s great to have some other classmates to share the experience with. The YWCA or the YMCA are great places to look for your first class. You can also try your local community college or night schools.

There are also plenty of books on meditation in your local library or bookstore. A good, short book can give you the basics and get you started quickly. It can also give you more background on the art of meditation. What books can’t do though is give you any strong feedback with your practice. It’s for that reason that I’d recommend more than just a book.

Audio CDs and DVDs are an excellent way to get started with meditation. They provide more guidance by actually leading you into and through each meditation session. This gives you a more “full-bodied” experience and leads to a deeper practice and understanding which leads to more anxiety relief benefits.

When starting out with meditation, you typically learn one or more breathing meditations first. They’re relatively simple to do and they get you actually meditating fast. If you stick with it, you can move into more advanced meditations and you can stay in the meditative state for longer periods. How far you take it is really up to you. But you will feel the calming effects of meditation from your very first session.

The practice of meditation is a very old and studied art. It’s been around for 1,000’s of years because it yields real benefits. It’s a truly effective method for dealing with stress, anxiety, and even panic attacks. So I’d recommend that you give it a try. After all, it’s easy to do, doesn’t cost much, and it could mean a great difference in your life.
